Kristen Doute Is Pregnant! The Valley Star Expecting First Baby with Fiancé Luke Broderick: 'Beyond Excited' (Exclusive)

Kristen Doute's life is filled with happiness and excitement as she announces her pregnancy. The 41-year-old star of The Valley is expecting her first child with fiancé Luke Broderick, as confirmed by her representative to PEOPLE. Doute shared delightful photos, expressing her joy in starting a family together with Broderick.

"After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024," Doute revealed. Recognizing that her age might be a factor, they chose to seek additional help. "Luke and I discussed going for an extra push," she explained.

In late summer, they consulted with a fertility specialist to understand their options moving forward. "The next month was a whirlwind," Doute recounted. This included learning about fertility treatments and preparing her body for IUI (intrauterine insemination). "We met with Dr. Carolyn Alexander at Southern California Reproductive Center, calling the experience incredible," she added.

Doute praised Dr. Alexander, noting, "She cared with a perfect balance of science and good energy, successfully helping us create our little miracle." It wasn’t long before Doute received thrilling news regarding her pregnancy, sharing that Broderick was "so happy" to learn of their growing family.

"The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years," Doute expressed. To accurately check for pregnancy, she needed to wait two weeks, but deep down, she sensed success. "I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me."

Her emotions surged: "I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited, and nervous." When she shared the news with Luke, he was "SO happy that IUI worked the first time." Their due date is in June, and Doute stated, "We are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!"

Broderick proposed to Doute a few months ago while they were on Maui, Hawaii, filming The Valley. They first met in June 2022 at a wedding, where Broderick was a groomsman. During The Valley’s premiere, Doute shared her impressions of him, stating, "I thought he’s sweet, he’s kind, he’s funny and then we had sex behind a tent and the rest is history."

After getting engaged, Doute and Broderick talked to PEOPLE about focus on their fertility journey ahead of wedding planning. Doute mentioned their busy lives: "We wrapped The Valley and have been working on our fertility journey. We’re just enjoying being engaged."

Broderick echoed her sentiments, emphasizing, "We’re putting family first."

Last November, Doute opened up on her podcast about experiencing a miscarriage. In April, she spoke with PEOPLE about gaining hope from their journey. "That does give us hope," Doute stated. She remained optimistic after only a few months of trying, saying, "We’re just hopeful."
