Lainey Wilson and Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges Are Engaged
Lainey Wilson, 32, shared the news of her engagement on Instagram on February 12. She posted several images of the proposal and displayed her engagement ring. In her caption, she wrote, "4x4xU forever," accompanied by a red heart emoji.
The engagement was a surprise for Wilson. Hodges, 28, proposed on the porch of a beautiful home, creating a romantic atmosphere with photo albums, candles, and long-stemmed red roses. Wilson happily said "yes." A candid photo captured her surprise, while Hodges laughed joyously. They shared a kiss for the photographer, showcasing Wilson's stunning, flower-shaped engagement ring.
Wilson and Hodges, who is a former NFL player turned real estate agent, began their relationship in 2021. They made their red-carpet debut together at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023.
In June 2023, Wilson praised Hodges saying, "He is good as gold. Supports me and never comes between my goals. He’s like, ‘Go get it, girl.’ " She noted their two-year relationship had a significant impact on her life.
She also mentioned Hodges' friendly bond with her friends, saying, "It’s so great. He’s buddies with all my buddies. He’ll FaceTime me with Hardy or Cole Swindell. I’m like, ‘Can you please stop taking my friends?’"
Hodges joined Wilson and her family at the Country Music Association Awards that November. After Wilson won five awards, including Entertainer of the Year, he honored her on social media.
Hodges expressed, "This girl is the most hard-working person I know." He highlighted her ethics and congratulated her on her accomplishments. "Congrats on all the awards last night and especially the BIGGEST AWARD OF THE NIGHT! ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR!" he wrote on Instagram.
In October 2024, Wilson dedicated her song "4x4xU" to Hodges, sharing an Instagram Reel of them enjoying a car ride together.
She expressed her feelings, stating, "Ain’t nowhere I’d rather be #4x4xu @devlinhodges."
