Their glamorous red carpet appearance followed a night before, where they attended Chanel's 16th annual Pre-Oscar Dinner dressed in coordinating black outfits. Sánchez donned a black Chanel dress featuring a velvet bustier and accessorized with a unique 2017 rocketship shoulder bag by the brand.

This wedding-themed attendance came on the heels of Bezos publicly debunking rumors from December 2024 about an imminent wedding. Reports suggested a lavish $600 million wedding in Aspen, Colorado, set for December 28, but Bezos immediately addressed these claims through a social media post.

Bezos referred to the rumors as "completely false," asserting, "None of this is happening." He cautioned, "The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is more relevant than ever." He humorously remarked that "lies can travel the world while the truth gets its pants on," encouraging caution and skepticism.

Additionally, Bezos criticized the media outlets that reported the misinformation, expressing curiosity whether they would issue corrections once the truth emerged. Their relationship began in January 2019, according to PEOPLE. A source shared that they were "on cloud nine — so happy and madly in love" following their engagement.
