Leah Messer Is Ready to Embrace Life as a "Cat Lady"
Leah Messer, known from Teen Mom, feels content being single over two years after her breakup with fiancé Jaylan Mobley. She shared with E! News, "I think everything will fall into place."
Despite the famous saying from The Beatles about love, Leah believes differently. After her engagement to army officer Jaylan Mobley ended, she has enjoyed being single.
Her castmate Maci Bookout expressed interest in matchmaking. Leah, however, is focused on her career and daughters. She is mom to 15-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah, with ex-husband Corey Simms, and 11-year-old Adalynn, from her marriage to Jeremy Calvert. Leah asserted, "And I think everything will fall into place the way it is."
If her future involves being a "cat lady", she is ready to embrace that too. "If I'm meant to be that cat lady, I will be that," she joked.
Leah feels things are just beginning for her. She visualizes her dream: "I want a cottage. If I'm being completely honest, I want to build my own cottage."
Leah has crafted a fulfilling life. During her single phase, she stated, "I don't want any distractions right now. I'm just trying to make money, okay? And raise my daughters." As a cheerleader for her daughters, Leah supports them as they start high school.
Though they are twins, their personalities vary greatly. Leah noted, "You get to see that, and you get to see a little bit of their social life and scenes with just them and their own friends." However, Leah’s rules and guidance remain a priority in their lives.
She emphasized important discussions, stating, "We talk a lot about drinking, drugs, alcohol." Leah shared insights from her memoir, Hope, Grace & Faith. She works hard to provide a safe environment at home. Friends who visit understand the house rules.
Leah firmly believes in safety for minors. She said, "I will call a parent tomorrow," if house rules are broken. "The safety of teens and kids is extremely important to me," she added.
Since her daughters turned 13, Leah has initiated dialogues on these topics. She explained, "When you start those conversations early, it becomes normal." She believes knowing their friends helps identify the right times to discuss serious subjects.
Ultimately, Leah emphasized, "Just creating that trust circle and that safe place for them really goes a long way and that's what we've done."
