Lori Harvey to Feature on Playboy’s First Print Issue in Five Years
Lori Harvey is set to mark Playboy’s return to print. The 28-year-old model announced on Thursday, Jan. 23 that she will be the inaugural cover model.
The announcement was shared on Instagram through a joint post featuring Harvey and Playboy. The post included glimpses of the photoshoot, showcasing Harvey in a low-cut, black sequin bodysuit paired with feathered boots. In another clip, she wore a black, long-sleeve backless dress.
"PLAYBOY returns to print with Lori Harvey on the cover. Preorder today. On stands 02.10.25," the caption stated.
This spring issue reemerges after Playboy's temporary hiatus in print. The launch will coincide with an event during Super Bowl Weekend in New Orleans.
Besides Harvey, the issue will also showcase comedian Nikki Glaser and an undisclosed Playmate of the Year.
The company initially revealed its plan to return to print in August 2024. However, they did not disclose the cover star at that time. Ben Kohn, the CEO of PLBY Group, emphasized Playboy’s historic role as a pivotal creator in the media landscape. He noted, "Playboy is the quintessential iconic brand. It is the original creator business that has launched hundreds of careers over the past seventy years."
Kohn continued to underline the importance of this decision, stating, "The reintroduction of Playboy magazine showcases the Company’s commitment to adapt to the evolving media landscape while honoring the brand’s rich heritage. This includes high-quality journalism and compelling storytelling that has defined Playboy for decades."
Lori Harvey commenced her fashion career at 20 years old, debuting on the runway for Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week in 2017. She has since featured in campaigns for renowned brands like Michael Kors, Valentino, and Burberry. In 2024, she also made her debut in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
Despite her success, Harvey has been candid about the pressure surrounding size inclusivity. "I felt pressure to be a particular size, especially at the start of my career," she remarked about her modeling experiences. "You arrive backstage, and it seems that everything is sample size, with expectations to be extremely tall and very thin."
She further expressed her concerns, saying, "I was self-conscious initially because I didn’t fit the traditional model mold. For my own brands, I prioritized inclusivity." Harvey founded her swimwear line, Yevrah, along with a skincare brand called SKN by LH.
