Luke Bryan Shares Adorable Nickname from Katy Perry’s Daughter Daisy

Luke Bryan, the American Idol judge, revealed that Katy Perry's daughter, Daisy Dove, sweetly calls him "Uncle Luke." He acts as a significant figure in her life, expressing his unconditional support.

During an exclusive chat at the 2024 CMA Awards, he discussed his ongoing friendship with Katy, who stepped away from the show this year after seven seasons as a judge, along with husband Orlando Bloom and their family.

"Katy and I text occasionally, and I check in on her," Luke said. "After spending seven years on the show together, we built a great friendship with her and Orlando." His connection with 3-year-old Daisy remains commendable, stating, "It’s always nice to see how they’re doing and how Daisy’s doing. Maybe Daisy will call me Uncle Luke for a long time."

With Katy's departure, Luke welcomed her replacement, Carrie Underwood. He noted the adjustment period for Carrie as she learns the role. "She's learning in real time. You can't attend an American Idol Judging School," Luke mentioned.

Although Carrie won the contest in 2005, Luke humorously added, "She went to American Idol Be A Contestant School." He admires Carrie’s approach, stating, "She’s great with the kids. She has the best soul and heart, settling in well at the judging table."

Carrie has been transparent about how her experience on the ABC show over the last two decades informed her understanding of the music industry. "I learned a lot, an insane amount," she reflected in a 2022 interview.

"It was a star boot camp, and I was trying to soak up everything I could. This experience undeniably launched my career."
