Madison Prewett Discusses Sharing Her Cousin's Breastmilk

On her Stay True podcast, Madison, 28, and her husband Grant Troutt discussed their birth story, PEOPLE reported. The couple welcomed their daughter, Hosanna Rose Troutt, in January. They spoke about everyone’s emotions leading up to the delivery and during their early days at home. Prewett described the transition to motherhood as a mix of "beautiful" and "hard" moments.

Prewett reflected on her challenging breastfeeding journey. "That was a hard journey that was really really challenging," she said. She detailed a concerning period when her newborn did not pee or poop for two days. "At that point, she's only four or five days old. She should be having several wet diapers a day," Prewett explained. This alarming situation led to her feeling overwhelmed and fearful. She questioned her milk production and whether her baby was sick.

Seeking guidance, Prewett reached out to her cousin, a mother of two. She expressed her concerns about possibly needing to switch her baby to formula. "I really don’t want to have to do that," she shared. Prewett emphasized her desire for her newborn to receive the benefits of breastfeeding, calling it "God-designed."

In response, her cousin offered a helpful suggestion. "If you don’t want to give her formula, I have frozen breast milk," her cousin said. This alternative provided Prewett with a solution that eased her worries. She noted this new option helped her begin to process her situation.

Finally being able to cry at this point was significant for Prewett. She expressed gratitude during this overwhelming moment. "It was an overwhelming worshipful, crazy thank you Lord experience," she described.

Madison Prewett and Grant Troutt became engaged in July 2022 after dating for eight months. They married in October 2022. Recently, they joyfully announced their daughter’s arrival on Instagram, sharing intimate moments from the hospital and their home.
