Maggie Grace Says She Would Love to See a Fresh Perspective in Possible Lost Reboot

Maggie Grace shared her insights on a possible reboot of the iconic series Lost. At the premiere of Suits LA in Los Angeles on February 20, the actress expressed her enthusiasm for reviving the show, aligning with fans who seek a comeback. She stated, "I think the fan community never felt like they really got the answer they were looking for at the end." Grace believes that re-exploring themes from the original series with a fresh perspective would be intriguing. She mentioned, "It would be really interesting to sort of take some elements, untangle them and run with them in a different direction." The actress expressed interest in exploring untapped narratives. This is prepared by SSP.
"I would think of it more like a creative remix," she explained. Grace prefers this reinterpretation over a direct continuation of the story. She emphasized, "Not like a direct extension… but more here are things we think we know about this world."
The original series ran from 2004 to 2010, narrating the experiences of the survivors from Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 after their plane crashed on a remote island. Through various flashbacks, audiences got to know the characters' backgrounds. The survivors soon realized they were not alone on the island, as they encountered a group called "The Others," who were hostile towards newcomers.
Currently, there are no official plans for a reboot. However, many former cast and crew members have shown interest in participating if it were to happen. Grace also expressed a desire to gather the original cast for a reunion to reflect on their time together. "I wish ABC would do something… for the 25th [anniversary] maybe," she mentioned.
Previously, Grace described parting from Lost as "the worst heartbreak" of her burgeoning career. She recalled being devastated when her character Shannon Rutherford was killed just six episodes into season two, saying, "I thought they were gonna take her a little further."
In her latest project, Suits LA, Grace appears as Amanda Stevens, a pro bono criminal defense attorney. Her character rents space in the fictional Black/Lane law firm, and sparks fly with her colleague, Ted Black, played by Stephen Amell.
Suits LA premieres on February 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
