Maitland Ward Calls Danielle Fishel "Regina George" After Confrontation

Maitland Ward, known for her role in Boy Meets World, recently clashed with Danielle Fishel on the Pod Meets World podcast. Following their heated exchange, Maitland likened Danielle to Regina George from Mean Girls.

Maitland expressed feeling unprepared for the confrontation. In her appearance on the February 24 podcast, where she reunited with her former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, lingering tensions with Danielle flared up again. Following the episode, she shared her thoughts with TooFab, stating that she believed Danielle once considered her a friend. "I can see that she did not like me," she lamented. "She has harbored this dislike over the years, which is sad."

During the conversation, Maitland also revealed her frustrations with Will. She felt misled about the podcast's tone. "He made it sound like fun and lighthearted, just talk about the show," she explained. "I wasn't expecting such a jarring shift."

The podcast began with an amicable discussion about their time on set and Maitland’s move into adult films. However, the atmosphere shifted drastically when Danielle directly questioned Maitland’s feelings toward her and their former co-stars. Maitland characterized Danielle’s transformation as she recalled, "One moment she was Topanga, and then she switched into Regina George."

Maitland also addressed their disagreement rooted in a Facebook message sent in 2013. This message led to questions over whether Danielle had unfriended her. After Danielle commented that she likely unfriended Maitland without much consideration, Maitland reacted, stating, "That makes me feel really great — you basically hate me more than I realized."

Durante el podcast, Danielle mentioned her surprise at receiving an invitation to Maitland’s wedding in 2006. This revelation hurt Maitland, who expressed that she genuinely wanted Danielle there: "I really liked her and wanted her to come."

Though Maitland is open to future discussions on Pod Meets World, she questioned Danielle's conduct at the episode’s conclusion. She stated, "I'm not saying I’m perfect, but I would never confront her like that, especially not publicly."
