Mandy Moore "Heartbroken" After Seeing Her Neighborhood Burn Down
Mandy Moore, known for her role in This Is Us, is grappling with heartbreak as wildfires ravage Los Angeles. The Eaton Fire, about 30 miles from the Pacific Palisades Fire, has devastated her neighborhood in Altadena, California.
In a heartfelt Jan. 8 Instagram post, Moore expressed her feelings of devastation. She shared, "I love you, Altadena," alongside videos of local buildings engulfed in flames. Moore extended gratitude to her family and pets who evacuated safely, thanking friends for their support with clothes and blankets during this crisis.
At 40, she faces profound loss, having children Gus, 3, Ozzie, 2, and Louise, 3 months. Moore detailed the damage impacting her family. "Honestly, I'm in shock and feeling numb for all that many have lost, including my family," she stated. "My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too."
Mandy concluded her message with a note of hope, affirming that despite the community's devastation, they will rebuild together. "Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control."
While it remains unclear if Moore’s home was destroyed, she is among many celebrities affected by the wildfires. Others, like Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, have confirmed losing their homes. TV chef Sandra Lee also shared her story in an Instagram video, lamenting, "I don’t have a home anymore, my house is gone."
General Hospital actor Cameron Mathison highlighted his loss by sharing sobering footage of the destruction left in the wake of the fire. "This is what’s left of our beautiful home," he wrote, detailing his anguish over losing the place where he had hoped to raise his kids.
