Mathew Knowles Responds to Kanye West's Remarks About Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Children

Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles, is defending his grandchildren, Rumi and Sir, following Kanye West's offensive comments on X. On March 18, West questioned the 7½-year-old twins' mental capacity in a Twitter post.
In his since-deleted message, he asked, "WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCE'S YOUNGER KIDS." Knowles, 73, addressed the issue three days later while speaking to TMZ, stating, "People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry."
Knowles expressed his hope for West to receive the mental health support he needs. This comment followed remarks made by his ex-wife, Tina Knowles, 71, who defended their family via Instagram.
She responded after West's comments. While on a photoshoot for her book, she shared a corny joke: "What happens when a snowman throws a tantrum? He has a meltdown." This moment lightened the mood amid the controversy.
Tina also addressed "ignorance and evil" in an edited caption, seemingly referencing West's words about her grandchildren. She stated it was challenging to maintain a positive demeanor during such circumstances, reaffirming her family's strength.

Beyoncé has previously discussed the importance of privacy for her kids. In a September 2024 GQ interview, she highlighted her efforts to protect her family's normalcy.
"I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family," she explained. Beyoncé emphasized that no amount of fame would compromise her family's peace.
