Mauricio Umansky Shares He Has Metal Plate and 12 Screws Inserted After Clavicle Injury

Mauricio Umansky is recovering following surgery for a broken clavicle. On Sunday, February 16, Umansky, 54, shared an update about his condition. He disclosed that surgeons had inserted a metal plate and 12 screws into his shoulder after an accident in Aspen.

"Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I have felt so much love and support," posted Umansky, the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, 56.

He added, "I had surgery on my clavicle. It was a clean break but required a metal plate and 12 screws. I expect a speedy recovery." Umansky praised the medical staff at Aspen Valley Hospital, stating they are "the best."

In reflecting on his skiing accident, he remarked, "I was wearing a helmet, and that for sure saved me."

Umansky first mentioned his hospitalization details on Friday, February 14. He posted a hospital selfie on Instagram and shared insights about his condition.

"I feel so blessed to be taken care of by such amazing humans," he wrote, thanking the ski patrol, paramedics, and Aspen Hospital. He reflected his mood with a somber photo while noting his "broken clavicle."

Just three minutes later, he posted an X-ray scan to highlight his injury and acknowledge the need for surgery.

This injury occurs amid personal drama for Umansky. He and Richards, who split in July 2023, are now discussing selling their family home.

"We have not filed for divorce or anything," Richards explained during an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, which aired Tuesday, February 4. "But we are now talking about what to do regarding our living arrangements. We are discussing selling the house or maintaining it, as it holds special significance."
