Meghan Markle Delays Netflix Series Amid Wildfires in Los Angeles
As wildfires engulf Los Angeles, Meghan Markle has postponed her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Markle now prioritizes aiding those affected by the devastating fires in California.
Originally set for January 15, the new premiere date is now March 4. She expressed gratitude toward Netflix for their support in this decision. "I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch," she stated on January 12, as reported by People. "We focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state."
Recently, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, visited the Pasadena Convention Center. They offered assistance to those suffering from the fires. The couple also posted resources on their website concerning crisis in their community.
"In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families," they wrote. "This includes homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more — affecting tens of thousands. A state of emergency has been issued."
Both Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, encouraged their audience to provide shelter for those fleeing danger. They noted that at least 16 lives have been lost due to the fires. "If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven, please do," they said.
They also advised checking on disabled or elderly neighbors needing help to evacuate.
To support those in need, the couple highlighted the importance of donating essentials. "Some families and individuals have been left with nothing," they emphasized. "Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys and clothing, and other essentials."
