Meghan Markle Reflects on Rescued Dog Guy's Legacy in New Netflix Show

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, recently shared about her late rescued beagle, Guy. Following his passing, she is honoring his memory in her new Netflix show, which premiered on March 4, 2025, PEOPLE reported.

Meghan expressed her grief on January 7 by posting a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. She wrote, "I have cried too many tears to count — those type of tears that make you get in the shower hoping the running water will help. But they are real, and that's okay." The show features a clip of Guy peacefully sleeping beside Meghan in episode five. "Guy's always there — he’s my shadow," Meghan remarks, sharing memories from their time in Toronto, the U.K., Canada, and California. She notes, "Guy has a lot of stories to tell."

In a segment showcasing her preparations, Meghan made her dog biscuits, a favorite of Guy's. She humorously mentioned how her bacon attracts not just Harry but also the dogs, stating they always dash to the kitchen for it. Later in the show, a tribute at the conclusion of the eighth episode reads, "In loving memory of Guy."

Meghan adopted Guy in 2015 while filming "Suits" in Canada, the same year before she met Prince Harry. Harry, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, appeared in the tribute video. Guy played an essential role during crucial moments of Meghan’s life, including being present during Harry’s 2017 proposal. As Meghan recalled, he was by her side throughout, saying, "He was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort."

She concluded her tribute by saying, "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know." Referring to her Netflix series, Meghan expressed her hope that viewers would come to see the significance of Guy in her life. She added, "I think you may fall a little bit in love too."
