Miley Cyrus Shares Artwork for Ninth Album Coming This Spring
Miley Cyrus has thrilled fans by announcing her upcoming visual album, Something Beautiful, which is slated for release on May 30, 2025, via Columbia Records. This will be her ninth studio album and is executive produced by Cyrus alongside Shawn Everett, known for his work with artists like Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. Something Beautiful features 13 original tracks, and its cover art, captured by the renowned photographer Glen Luchford, portrays Cyrus adorned in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, set against a celestial backdrop. In advance of the release, Cyrus has been creating buzz on social media, adjusting her platforms’ aesthetics to hint at the album and promoting visually with posters appearing in countries such as Brazil, the Netherlands, and Argentina. The album, available for preorder, offers fans various formats, including signed vinyl, limited-edition versions, and exclusive box sets with collectibles.
Previously, Cyrus released the album Endless Summer Vacation in 2023, led by the blockbuster single "Flowers," which dominated the Billboard Hot 100, securing the top spot for eight consecutive weeks. "Flowers" not only accumulated record-breaking streaming achievements but also earned Cyrus Grammy awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Despite its success, the song is now the subject of a copyright lawsuit alleging similarities to Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man," as claimed by the rights-holder, Tempo Music Investments.
Cyrus has also continued to engage fans with appearances like her stirring performance at the SNL50 Anniversary Special. Here, she delivered a notable rendition of Sinéad O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U," paired with Brittany Howard, and they also performed a lively medley of other hits, captivating the audience with her charismatic stage presence and spontaneous interactions.
