Naomi Watts Matches Her Canine Costar in Furry Polka Dot Dress at NYC Premiere of The Friend

Naomi Watts attended the New York City premiere of her film, 'The Friend', with her furry companion, Bing. The actress, 56, matched her costar by wearing an open-back white dress adorned with black furry spots, mirroring Bing's coat.

At the event on March 24, Bing captured attention, posing on the red carpet before lounging as Watts affectionately petted and treated him. Their sweet interaction was highlighted in several photographs.
Watts expressed her delight about working with Bing, describing the experience as "unbelievable." She shared, "Every day he brought something special and surprised us every step of the way." Watts acknowledged the common adage about working with animals, noting, "He did everything required from the page and then some."
In 'The Friend', Watts stars alongside her friend and costar Bill Murray. She plays a novelist in New York City who must care for her friend Walter's Great Dane, Apollo, after his unexpected death. The film explores themes of love and loss following Walter’s passing.

An official synopsis states, "After the unexpected death of her mentor and closest friend, the New York novelist Iris becomes the caretaker of both his literary legacy and his beloved Great Dane."
Days before the premiere, Watts released a touching video on Instagram from the final scene of 'The Friend'. A crew member could be heard announcing her last shot, prompting applause. As Watts smiled, Bing barked, adding to the joyful atmosphere.

In her post, Watts reflected on the filming experience, saying, "THE FRIEND was so, so special to film. Every time an actor wrapped, Bing would give us a special send-off 🐶." She promoted the film’s release dates, noting it starts in select theaters on March 28 and nationwide on April 4.
Thank you, @bing.the.great.dane, for being an incredible co-star, she concluded.
