Nick and Vanessa Lachey Reflect on Parenting as Their Son Camden Turns 13

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, hosts of "Love Is Blind," recently shared their thoughts on parenting their three kids: Camden, Brooklyn, and Phoenix. The couple expressed their heartfelt emotions about watching their children grow.
Nick and Vanessa cherish their kids, making it tough to see them growing up. This year, their eldest child, Camden, will officially become a teenager. Nick mentioned on Entertainment Tonight, "Our oldest is going to be a teenager this year." This news brought tears to Vanessa, causing her to exclaim, "Oh no," as emotions took hold.
"They’re growing," Vanessa said, visibly overwhelmed. She emphasized, "We love our children, and we love watching them grow."
Camden's transition isn't the only change. Nick finds himself reminiscing as he does house chores. "I’m folding Phoenix’s little Superman Underoos and thinking, ‘He won’t be in these for long,’" he noted. Additionally, he shares experiences with Brooklyn as she grapples with growing up. She responded, "I don’t want to grow up," highlighting those childhood feelings.
Watching their youngest child, Phoenix, take significant steps is tough for Vanessa. "All of Phoenix’s firsts are my lasts," she stated, expressing the bittersweet nature of parenting. Nonetheless, Vanessa feels excitement about the milestones ahead for Camden and their other children.

As she shared her outlook, Vanessa said, "I’m excited about girlfriends and boyfriends and driving."
Furthermore, Vanessa appreciates having more quality time with her children recently. This opportunity arose due to the cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii, where she starred for three seasons. The Lacheys moved to Oahu in 2021 for her role, but have since relocated back to California.
"The silver lining to that is it’s been able to give us so much time with our kids," she reflected. "And now I’m there for everything."
