Nicole Kidman Admires Hairless Cats: "One Might Be in My Future"

Nicole Kidman is captivated by hairless cats, describing them as "very nice and pretty." She recently revealed her fondness during an interview. The actress shared this while discussing her role in the new thriller "Holland," in which she plays a Michigan schoolteacher investigating her suspicious husband, portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen.
When prompted about her real-life obsessions, Kidman responded, "Hairless cats. Yes. I did it last night. I love hairless cats. I just love them. I've decided — we already have three cats — but I really want a hairless cat." Macfadyen, humorously chimed in, stating, "They're also called scrotum cats, I've heard. They're quite startling."

Kidman playfully responded to this remark, saying, "Hairless cats take offense to that!" She adds, "They're very, very yummy. Very nice and, I think, very pretty, but that might just be me." With enthusiasm, she noted, "I was really going gaga over all the hairless cats. So one might be in my future."
Macfadyen shared his current obsession with late spy novelist John le Carré. He recalled spending an hour watching interviews online, describing it as "a total rabbit hole in itself." In turn, Gael García Bernal mentioned he enjoys discovering "stories where the wrong people are solving a mystery," much like the narrative of "Holland."

Jokingly, Kidman remarked, "See, I'm the superficial one of the bunch!" She later conveyed her love for gardening and mentioned that she'd name her flower shop "Hairless Cats."
Director Mimi Cave praised the dynamics among Kidman, Macfadyen, and Bernal. She referred to their chemistry as "electric," emphasizing the good energy on set, even amidst tense scenes. Macfadyen noted, "The darker the subject matter, the more fun on set it is." Reflecting on the tone of their work, Kidman added, "It's such an interesting tone, with really dark humor. It presents as a package with a big bow, and when you unwrap it, you're like, 'Oh!'"
"Holland" is currently streaming on Prime Video.
