Nicole Kidman Shares Her 'Greatest Gift': Honoring the 'Super Special' People

Nicole Kidman stars in the new thriller "Holland" alongside Matthew Macfadyen and Gael García Bernal, now streaming on Prime Video. In the film, Kidman plays a meticulous homemaker whose idyllic life is disrupted by suspicions about her husband's actions.
Kidman, 57, expresses her love for giving flowers, specifically those she grows in her garden. "I grow roses," Kidman shares with PEOPLE. "My greatest gift to someone can be a bunch of my own wild roses." She adds, "If you get that, it means you're super special. There's only a few of them though." Macfadyen, 50, affectionately refers to Kidman's gesture as "lovely."

Her current favorite blooms include tulips and daffodils. Kidman enjoys fragrant flowers too, mentioning night-blooming jasmine, honeysuckle, gardenias, hyacinths, and lilacs. With a smile, she illustrates her dream of owning a flower shop someday.
Despite the film’s darker themes, the cast found joy during filming. Macfadyen comments, "I think the darker the subject matter, sometimes the more fun on set it is." He notes how actors often counterbalance the material's gravity. Kidman agrees, pointing out, "This has such an interesting tone, with dark humor presented like a package with a bow that surprises you when unwrapped."

Bernal, 46, enjoys narratives involving unexpected investigators. "Stories where the wrong people solve a mystery — I really like them," he states. He finds similarities between these tales and the plot of "Holland."
Director Mimi Cave, known for the 2022 horror "Fresh," praises Kidman’s contribution. She highlights Kidman's ability to weave "subtle and under-toned humor" throughout the film, which the director relishes. The trio's chemistry on set was described by Cave as "electric," enhancing the overall energy during filming.
