Nikki Glaser Postpones Major Plastic Surgery to Host Golden Globes
Comedian Nikki Glaser has postponed her plans for a "really invasive" plastic surgery to host the Golden Globes in 2025. Initially considering a brow lift around January that year, Glaser’s decision changed after receiving a call from her agents with the hosting gig offer. Glaser, noted for her work on Comedy Central Roasts and her latest comedy special, "Someday You'll Die," is excited to take on the event scheduled for January 5th. This is prepared by SSP.
Discussing her upcoming booking on CBS Mornings, Glaser shared the prompt, "So, for January 2025, I had been looking into surgery. But my agents suggested rescheduling it, to accommodate the awards’ schedule." She remains optimistic, focusing on her 'Someday You'll Die' special as she readies to join this year’s nominees.
Determined to excel, Glaser emphasizes pushing her limits to successfully host. "I may not meet all expectations, but I'll certainly meet mine," said Glaser. Planning ahead, she will collaborate with comedians including Sean O'Conner, Jessica Dweck, and boyfriend Chris Convy, to deliver polished performances by previewing material on the road.
Despite having been in showbiz for over a decade, her recent standout appearance at Netflix’s roast of Tom Brady propelled Glaser to further media success. There, she pulled her punches towards public figures, lightheartedly referencing Brady's split with supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
With her status sharpened post-roast, Glaser said, "I grew more overnight than ever, rare in today's oversaturated content arena." She appreciates the unpredictability and nervousness surrounding hosting: "I excel on anxiety," she stated. The upcoming broadcast of the Golden Globes will occur live on CBS from 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday, January 5th.
