Nikki Glaser, Taylor Swift’s Superfan, Spent Nearly $100,000 on 22 Eras Tour Shows
Nikki Glaser, a well-known comedian and host, is an avid fan of Taylor Swift. She has reportedly spent "close to $100,000" attending 22 shows of Swift’s Eras Tour over the last two years, PEOPLE reported. According to Glaser, this total accounts for tickets, travel expenses, hotels, guests, and merchandise. At 40 years old, the comedian emphasizes that this amount is well worth it, stating, "I would’ve paid even more."
Glaser found satisfaction in Swift’s record-breaking ticket sales, which reached $2,077,618,725 over 21 months. This figure made Glaser reflect on the money she contributed, noting, "I could see my own money in that number." Her commitment to attending concerts stems from her decision not to have children, as she aims to allocate her finances to passion projects like Swift’s tour. She stated, "I justify that cost because I don't have kids," and pointed out parental expenses can be considerable, adding, "People spend that much on their kids playing hockey for five years."
She pointed out the double standards regarding financial choices. "People who give you crap about it, they are just jealous," said Glaser. While she often sees criticism for spending on concerts, society rarely shames parents for their child-related expenses. Glaser finds the critiques perplexing, stating, "If I didn't buy the $6,000 ticket, someone else would have."
Over the past 14 months, Glaser’s expenditure has significantly increased. Appearing on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in October 2023, she shared that she had spent around $25,000 by then for only nine shows. She conveyed how attending these concerts brings her immense joy: "It just fills my life up with so much joy."
Reflecting on life choices, Glaser emphasized a conscious decision not to have children, which she equates with greater freedom to invest in concert experiences. "I’m in my late 30s. I just feel like, if I had kids, I’d be paying for dance camp and swim lessons."
Previously, Nikki Glaser extended an apology to Taylor Swift over comments she had made, which Swift later included in her 2020 documentary, *Miss Americana*. Swift graciously accepted the apology, stating, "I appreciate this so much."
As the highly celebrated Eras Tour concluded, it was reported that Swift awarded $197 million in bonuses (in addition to salaries). This generous sum went to all crew members, from truck drivers to make-up staff, recognizing their hard work during the tour.
