Normani Celebrates Her Strong Friendship with Ariana Grande
At the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked on November 9, Normani shared insights about her friendship with Ariana Grande. She described Ariana as "an incredible support system" during her solo career in music.
Normani recognizes that her friend has positively impacted her life. While attending the event to support Ariana, who plays Glinda the Good Witch alongside Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba, Normani highlighted offscreen encouragement from Ariana as she launched her solo music career. "Ari has been such an incredible support system for me," Normani stated. The Fifth Harmony alum released her debut solo album, Dopamine, in June. She expressed gratitude, saying, "Whenever I release something, she is always one of the first to text me, letting me know how proud she is."
Throughout challenging moments, Normani revealed that the Wicked star remained a constant. Normani noted, "She also knows what I’ve endured. This process has not been easy, but she’s been there every step of the way and has gone above and beyond to show her pride in me. It means a lot."
As she praised Ariana's performance in the film, Normani affirmed that their mutual support strengthens their bond. She remarked, "I can’t think of anybody better. What a perfect duo: Cynthia and Ari. I’m so proud of her, especially as she pushes her limits in a new territory. She thrives in this role, and I truly can’t think of anyone more suited for it."
Normani concluded her sentiments with heartfelt encouragement, exclaiming, "I’m proud of you, baby!"
