Olivia Rodrigo Says She Was 'Terrified' During First GUTS Tour Concerts
Olivia Rodrigo, though on her second world tour titled GUTS, confessed to being "terrified" before performing at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California, in February 2024. In a chat with PEOPLE magazine during the Netflix's Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour red carpet premiere on October 25, the "Get Him Back!" singer, 21, expressed regret, wishing for three more weeks of practice. Despite her anxiety, she pressed on with the performance. Reflecting on her early shows, Rodrigo shared that her hands trembled in fear of making mistakes while playing the piano, but later shows saw her growing more comfortable and enjoying the experience. This is prepared by SSP.
Beyond the stage, Rodrigo cherishes a particular off-stage memory with her loved ones. Following a successful show, she was met with cheers from her parents and friends, marking the moment by celebrating with a toast of champagne. "It was such a beautiful moment. I’ll remember it forever," she reminisced.
James Merryman directed the GUTS world tour documentary, premiering on Netflix on October 29. Rodrigo expressed excitement about sharing the tour experience with fans, especially those who couldn’t attend the concerts in person, offering them a front-row seat through Netflix. The tour originally kicked off on February 23 in Palm Springs, featuring acts like Chappell Roan, The Breeders, Remi Wolf, PinkPantheress, and Benee. While she completed her 2024 dates in Australia recently, her tour is set to continue in March with performances in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia, continuing through to June 30 and July 1, 2025, in Manchester, England, for postponed shows due to venue issues.
