Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Is Officially a Grandmother

Ree Drummond is now a grandmother! The Pioneer Woman host, aged 55, shared heartwarming news on social media that her eldest daughter, Alex, has given birth to her first child. The baby girl is named Sofia.

"We have our first baby’s first baby," Drummond announced in her Instagram post. In the photo, she lovingly cradles Sofia while sitting beside her husband, Ladd Drummond, in a hospital room.

"Thank you, Lord; we will never be the same," she continued, drawing numerous comments from well-wishers including family and fans. Alex, aged 27, commented, "Sofia loves her grandparents already," adding a crying emoji, while Ree's 24-year-old daughter, Paige, responded with "Grandma reeree ❤️."

Sunny Anderson, Ree’s fellow Food Network star, also sent her congratulations. She wrote, "Sending all of you all that you need in good vibes and rest and tissues for happy tears… all the good stuff. Congratulations ❤️."

Ree Drummond delighted fans with more photos on her Instagram Stories. These included intimate shots of the sleeping Sofia swaddled in a cute blanket with a bow atop her head. Ree humorously noted, "How is it that hospital swaddling blankets have this same foot pattern from 30 years ago?" and added a laughing emoji above her post.

In another Story, she shared Alex’s birth announcement posted alongside her husband, Mauricio Scott. Alex captioned the photo carousel, "She’s here! December 18th, 2024, at 2:27 am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you, Lord."

The black-and-white images displayed Alex and Mauricio with their newborn shortly after her birth. One touching snapshot captured Alex in tears, overwhelmed by the joy of meeting Sofia.

Earlier in the year, Alex excitedly revealed that she and Scott were expanding their family. They married in 2021. "We can’t wait to meet you, little one," she shared via Instagram, announcing, "Baby Scott joining the party this winter!"

At that time, Ree remarked, "Beyond happy for you two!! (And for the whole family!) Love you, Alex and Mauricio!"

Ree also has three sons, Bryce (21), Jamar (21), and Todd (19), with Ladd. Last summer, she penned a blog post reflecting on Alex’s milestone.

"My child is going to have a child. It’s surreal, and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of temporarily leaving your body after hearing such news," she expressed.

"We have no idea what being grandparents will resemble or how much it will shift our lives," she admitted, clarifying that Alex was due in January 2025.

"I might watch less Bravo, maybe? (Maybe not.) Can grandmothers have long hair? Can grandfathers look sexy in Wranglers? How long before the baby can ride a horse?" she humorously pondered.
