Pregnant TikToker Goes Viral for Dish Soap Craving

Pregnant TikTok creator Yanni Giles has gained widespread attention for her unusual craving for dish soap. As she anticipates the arrival of her third child, other users on the platform have joined the conversation.
Cravings during pregnancy can often be unexpected. Yanni, who is expecting a baby girl, became a focal point on TikTok after sharing her obsession with dish soap. "It smells so good," she explained in a video posted on February 13, squeezing a soapy kitchen sponge. She remarked that the aroma is almost something you can taste.
The internet personality, who shares two sons, Golden (4) and Sehvahn (2), with her husband, Tourone Giles, does not consume the dish soap. Instead, she surrounds herself with the scent in creative ways. These methods include pouring the soap over ice water to inhale its fragrance while munching on plain crushed ice. Additionally, she uses the soap for scrubbing her washing machine and mopping her house.
In one of her videos — which collectively accrued over 20 million views — Yanni satisfied her craving by pouring dish soap down her kitchen sink and turning on the tap. She let the basin fill with suds, allowing her to enjoy the soapy scent as she indulged in her unique yearning.
Interestingly, Yanni also attributed her craving to anemia, a condition more common during pregnancy, as indicated by the Mayo Clinic. Though her desire for dish soap may seem bizarre, Yanni clarified that it’s not a new phenomenon for her.
"Yes, I craved dish liquid with all three pregnancies," she wrote in the caption of her January 20 post. "Yes, I do it multiple times a day... yes, it goes away after birth, and no, I won’t stop posting about it."
It appears that others experiencing pregnancy can relate to her distinctive craving. One user expressed, "This is so real and nobody gets it."
Another chimed in, saying, "I’m going to miss this when the baby comes."
