Prince William Discusses Prince Louis’s New Drumming Hobby
Prince Louis has discovered a new passion: playing the drums. During an appearance at the Tusk Conservation Awards in London on November 27, Prince William shared insights about his son’s noisy hobby. Speaking to musician Ronnie Wood and Mark Knopfler, he humorously remarked, "My youngest is learning the drums. That’s why I spend my entire life with my fingers in my ears," according to The Telegraph.
William and Kate Middleton are parents to three children: Louis, 6; Prince George, 11; and Princess Charlotte, 9. Their family continues to be a cherished part of their lives.
At the awards event held at the Savoy Hotel, Prince William presented the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa. He highlighted his dedication to environmental issues, saying, "Tonight is a reminder that our planet continues to face terrifying environmental concerns, from climate change and habitat destruction to the exploitation of natural resources and an alarming downward trend in global biodiversity." He emphasized the alarming rate at which rainforests are disappearing and the risk of extinction for one million species due to human activities.
Earlier this month, Prince William traveled to Cape Town for the annual Earthshot Prize awards. This initiative provides $1 million grants to five winners for their environmental efforts. On his final day in South Africa, William candidly stated, "Honestly, it’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year of my life." This remark pointed to two family health crises, as both his father, King Charles III, and his wife have faced cancer diagnoses.
The relationship between King Charles and Prince William appears strained, as underlying tensions arise with William's imminent succession to the throne. A source revealed, "The dynamics have shifted." Another source added, "Charles has longed to be monarch for decades. Despite battling cancer, he is determined to be a successful and dynamic leader."
In contrast, "William is preparing behind the scenes for his eventual ascent," another insider shared. "Like his father, he takes the royal role very seriously."
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton has returned to public engagements, attending the Festival of Remembrance on November 9 and a memorial service at the Cenotaph on November 10. In an interview, William mentioned that Kate would continue to participate in engagements when she is ready. "I think, hopefully, Catherine will be doing a bit more next year," he said, indicating potential future trips are planned.
