Rachael Kirkconnell's Sister Trinity Discusses Breakup with Matt James
Trinity Kirkconnell, sister of Rachael Kirkconnell, has provided insight into the recent breakup between Rachael and Matt James. The Bachelor couple enjoyed a four-year relationship before James, 33, revealed their separation on Instagram this week. This announcement came only one day after he posted joyful moments from a trip to London with Rachael, 28, leading to confusion among fans.
The closeness of the two posts caught the attention of TikTok user Gabby White. In a video shared on January 17, White speculated on the odd timing. "The London content was likely sponsored," she pointed out. "He might have been required to post it, but it seems strange to go from loving posts to a breakup notice just hours later."
Trinity responded to this speculation by clarifying that Rachael and James were together when the earlier posts were made. "They were still together when he posted all that... just for clarity on the timing," she noted. This comment added a layer of understanding to the situation as fans attempted to piece together their timeline.
According to Trinity, James posted his breakup message just three hours after their split was confirmed. He made the announcement in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, via Instagram. His post included a plea for divine strength and peace regarding their decision to separate. It also featured a heartfelt photo from The Bachelor season 25.
In his message, James expressed, "Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts." He emphasized that their joy stems from a higher source. He had chosen Rachael as his winner on the show, during its 2021 airing. However, their relationship faced turmoil when racially insensitive posts from Rachael's past emerged soon after the season finale. They reconciled a month later.
Following James's post, some Bachelor fans questioned whether Rachael had been "blindsided" by the breakup. Sources later indicated to Us Weekly that while Rachael wasn't surprised by the breakup itself, she was taken aback by James’s words and the nature of his post.
