Rapper Young Scooter Dies at Age 39 on His Birthday Following Hospitalization

The Atlanta rapper Young Scooter passed away on March 28, the same day he turned 39. He was reportedly injured while trying to escape police after a 911 call concerning a domestic dispute.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to a call about shots fired and a female being dragged into a home on William Nye Drive. Upon arrival, a male opened the door but quickly closed it. This prompted officers to establish a perimeter around the house.
During this operation, two men fled the scene. One returned, but the other jumped over two fences. When police found him, he had sustained a leg injury. He received aid before being taken to Grady Hospital, where he later died.
Reports from 11 Alive, Variety, and Atlanta News First confirmed that the deceased was Kenneth Edward Bailey, known as Young Scooter. However, the police have not disclosed the identity of the individual. They were also unable to locate the woman at the residence and stated the reasons for the men fleeing remain unclear.

While the incident did not involve any police gunfire, Scooter's family has confirmed his death. His cause of death is still unverified. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Atlanta Police Department have been contacted for further information.
Born in Walterboro, S.C., and raised in Kirkwood Community, Atlanta, Scooter began his music journey after encountering legal issues in 2008. He collaborated with Future and established himself in the music scene after signing with Future's label in 2012.
Waka Flocka Flame, who signed Scooter in 2013, paid tribute on social media. His post included heartfelt messages reflecting their relationship. Playboi Carti and Quavo also expressed their condolences on Instagram and X, respectively, indicating the impact Scooter had on his peers.
