Rebecca Minkoff Reflects on Past Relationship with Danny Masterson

Rebecca Minkoff, a fashion designer and star of Real Housewives of New York, recently discussed her past connection with Danny Masterson. In the December 9 episode of the "Two Ts in a Pod" podcast, Minkoff shared how she knew the convicted rapist.

"At the start of my career, he was incredibly supportive," Minkoff said to hosts Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge. She added that she has not "seen or spoken to the actor" in a decade. Through Masterson, Minkoff met various actresses who were eager to wear her products. She credits him with introducing her to famous friends willing to showcase her designs.

Minkoff chose not to comment on Masterson’s legal problems, stating, "And that’s all I can say. I didn’t participate in the case. I don’t have details." Masterson was convicted on two counts of forcible rape from incidents occurring in the early 2000s. He has consistently denied the allegations and received a 30-year prison sentence in September 2023. That September also marked the time when his ex-wife, Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce. The couple shares a daughter, Fianna, who is 10 years old.

In March 2017, four women alleged that Masterson sexually assaulted them in the early 2000s. A fifth woman later claimed that he "repeatedly raped" her during their relationship. Masterson maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to three counts of rape in January 2021. His first trial, which commenced in fall 2022, ended in a mistrial. Following that, he stood trial again in spring 2023, leading to his conviction.

Before these convictions, Masterson was recognized for his role as Steven Hyde in That ‘70s Show, which aired from 1998 to 2006. He later portrayed Jameson "Rooster" Bennett in Netflix’s The Ranch from 2016 to 2018.

In contrast, Minkoff has previously discussed her connection to Scientology. During an October 2021 appearance on the "Dinner Party With Jeremy Fall" podcast, she spoke about her beliefs. "Scientology, which the word itself means knowledge," Minkoff explained. Being Jewish is also an integral part of her beliefs. She expressed that she turns to Scientology to gain knowledge and has found value in it. Minkoff clarified, "We’re just separating the body from the spirit. It has personally helped me from my own demons."
