Rihanna Shares Heartfelt Throwback Video for Valentine's Day with A$AP Rocky During His Assault Trial

Rihanna recently celebrated A$AP Rocky on Valentine’s Day amid his ongoing assault trial. The singer and Fenty Beauty icon, aged 36, posted a video tribute on Friday, February 14, showcasing affection for her longtime partner, PEOPLE reported.

"Get u a valentine that still writes love letters 😉💌," Rihanna wrote in her Instagram Reel. The footage featured the couple holding hands while wandering through Paris. Other clips displayed them in matching camo puffer jackets, resting on the floor of what appeared to be a hotel room.

The video served as a nostalgic throwback, especially as Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, faces a high-profile civil trial in Los Angeles. On February 14, Rihanna made an appearance at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center for the prosecution's closing statements. The day before, she brought their two children, RZA, age 2, and Riot, age 18 months.

During the proceedings, District Attorney John Lewin urged the jury to remain objective despite the presence of the pop star and their children in the courtroom.

A$AP Rocky is accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun during an altercation with A$AP Relli in November 2021. If convicted, he could face up to 24 years in prison. In an August 2024 Billboard cover story, he spoke candidly about his relationship with the "Diamonds" singer, remarking on the difficulty of balancing their chaotic schedules.

"It’s crazy how we find balance," he noted while discussing Rihanna. He emphasized her understanding during their hectic periods, stating, "I don’t think there’s a more perfect person." Rocky expressed that the couple enjoys quality time when their schedules allow for it.

"It’s all understanding and compatibility," he added, highlighting the foundation of their relationship.
