Rosie O'Donnell's Daughter Chelsea Arrested Again After Bail Out by Birth Mother
Rosie O'Donnell has confirmed her daughter Chelsea Belle O'Donnell has been arrested again. This marks Chelsea's third arrest in three months, following a recent drug offense and child neglect charges.
Chelsea, 27, faces new legal troubles following her recent arrest. "So yes, this is true," Rosie shared on Instagram on December 3. She included a screenshot of an email inquiring about Chelsea's status. Rosie added, "After being bailed out by her birth mother, Chelsea was arrested again, facing multiple charges tied to her drug addiction."
Rosie expressed hope for her daughter's recovery, saying, "We all hope she is able to get the help she needs to turn her life around. #drug-addiction #tragic #sadness #truth."
The Marinette County Jail confirmed Chelsea's arrest on November 18. She is currently in custody, with no court date set at this time. Chelsea was previously released on bail after her birth mother, Deanna Micoley, posted the $4,000 bail on November 13, according to Us Weekly court documents.
Currently, Chelsea faces two felony counts for possession of methamphetamine, a felony count of possession of narcotics, and two felony counts of bail jumping, as reported by People. She is also a mother to three daughters: Skylar (5), Riley (3), and Avery (2), along with her son Atlas, who is 12 months old.
This is Chelsea's third arrest within three months. She was first arrested in Marinette County, Wisconsin, in September. The charges included felony counts of child neglect, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possession of methamphetamine. She also faced misdemeanor charges for possession of THC, illegal prescriptions, drug paraphernalia, and domestic abuse.
On October 11, Chelsea was arrested again in Oconto County, Wisconsin. Court records show she was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine and narcotics, as well as bail jumping. She also faced misdemeanor charges for possessing drug paraphernalia and for resisting or obstructing an officer.
After the news broke about Chelsea's arrests, Rosie took to social media to thank fans for their support. She expressed her gratitude in an October TikTok video, saying, "I just wanted to thank everybody for their kind words and wishes about Chelsea. I appreciate that. It's very, very nice."
She was particularly thankful to those who shared their own experiences with similar situations involving loved ones. "Thank you for making me feel less alone," she remarked. Rosie added that being a public figure presents unique challenges, particularly for their families.
Rosie has been open about her complex relationship with Chelsea over the years. This dynamic intensified in 2015 when Chelsea decided to live with her birth mother in Wisconsin. "Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice," Rosie's publicist confirmed at that time.
In 2018, Rosie reported that the two had reconnected shortly before Chelsea welcomed her first child. "She's doing better now, and we're both communicating with each other," Rosie remarked in September. She emphasized that mutual forgiveness leads to a meaningful and transformative experience for both parties.
