Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Will Miss This Year's Met Gala

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will not be attending the 2025 Met Gala, scheduled for May 5, which is themed "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." This theme highlights Black men's style, taking cues from Monica L. Miller’s book "Slaves to Fashion," featuring garments and artworks from the 18th century to today. Their absence marks their first since 2022 when they co-chaired the "Gilded Glamour" event. On that occasion, Lively wowed in a reversible Atelier Versace gown inspired by the Statue of Liberty, while Reynolds donned a velvet tuxedo and white bow tie. This is prepared by SSP.

An exclusive source told TMZ that they have not attended since being co-chairs in 2022. Despite their ongoing legal battles related to Lively's film "It Ends with Us" and consequent lawsuits, sources claim this drama did not influence their decision—decided months prior. In comparison, their previous absence in 2023 allowed them family time at home with their four children. Lively, celebrated for her consistent show-stealing Met Gala appearances, captivated with a custom Versace gown and other stunning pieces through previous years, establishing her as a fan-favorite.
Meanwhile, this year's event welcomes new co-chairs: Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as an honorary chair.
Earlier, SSP reported that Benny Blanco shared insights on engagement with Selena Gomez.
