Ryan Reynolds Celebrates His Mom's 80th Birthday: ‘Tam Tam is 80!’

Ryan Reynolds honored his mother, Tammy Reynolds, on her milestone birthday. On December 2, he posted a carousel to celebrate her turning 80.

"Tam Tam is 80!!! Wishing my mom the happiest birthday," he wrote. The caption accompanied a video montage showcasing their fun moments together.

He shared a funny memory: "I still remember the first time I saw her. I was sitting in the backyard, holding a flashlight and dozing off. Suddenly, she waddled out of the shed. It scared the s--- out of me!"

He continued, referencing his adventurous childhood. "I rode my bike from our dry desert home into a nearby deciduous rainforest. Eventually Mom convinced us to 'f--- it' and we flew into the air," he joked, combining nostalgia with humor. He added his unique twist inspired by the movie "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial": "She waddled back into her spacecraft and left Earth forever, even though I saw her four times today alone."

In a more sincere tone, he concluded, "Happy Birthday, mom. You are the best mom. We love you. Your grandbabies love you. Most importantly, Hugh Jackman loves you."

The carousel included various memories featuring Ryan’s brother Terry Reynolds, director Shawn Levy, and family moments. It showcased not only Tammy but also her sons Jeff and Patrick, raised alongside their late father, James "Jim" Chester Reynolds, who passed away in 2015.

Through her son Ryan and daughter-in-law Blake Lively, Tammy enjoys the role of grandmother. She adores granddaughters James, 9, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and grandson Olin, born in February 2023.

Ryan often shares memories of his mom. He has posted on social media, attended red carpets with her, and even included her while on The View back in June.

For Mother’s Day 2022, Tammy appeared in an ad for Ryan's Aviation Gin. The commercial humorously depicted him making a cocktail called "Mothers Ruin Punch," while she critiqued his technique.

"As this chills for an hour, reflect on everything your mom has done for you over the years," he mentioned, as she teased him for not using coasters.

"Or just add champagne while it’s warm and drink the ever-loving s--- out of it," he joked, blending warmth with wit.
