Samsung’s Overhauled One UI 7 Revealed: A New Look and Enhanced Features
Samsung’s next significant update, One UI 7, is slated to bring extensive changes to its Galaxy devices, refining the user experience significantly. Spotted from leaks on Twitter and various platforms, One UI 7 promises both new visuals and features.
According to the leaks, including images shared by @chunvn8888, One UI 7 might modify the quick settings and notification panels, making the interface elements rounder throughout. The leaks suggest that Samsung could separate the notification panel from the quick settings shade, unlike the unified system in One UI 6, thereby changing how users access these settings. Additionally, elements around icons such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are adopted more rounded shapes, seen also in notification bubbles and the main settings menu.
A video obtained by Smartprix reveals new notification pop-outs for timers and system apps that resemble the iPhone’s Dynamic Island animations, indicating an effort to visually enhance the notification experience. Also, continuity notifications appear in the screenshots, allowing seamless video call transitions between Galaxy devices, a feature akin to Apple’s call handoff.
Complementing these refinements, renowned leaker @UniverseIce detailed myriad impending changes on Chinese site Weibo. One UI 7 is poised to include fresh application icons, new animations, a revamped camera interface, and an innovative battery icon. Moreover, a new control area is expected at the bottom of the lock screen, with options to customize notifications and quick settings as either separate or unified menus.
Furthermore, improvements extend to user customization with more lock screen and desktop widgets, accommodating various sizes to enhance personalization. New system functionalities such as better camera quality for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and expected support for satellite connectivity add to the extensive list of upgrades.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed these updates, rumors hint that the One UI 7 beta could launch anytime, though it may now be delayed. Nonetheless, it is expected that the final version of One UI 7 will follow the release of Android 15, potentially rolling out by October.
