Segway Launches Kid-Friendly Scooter for Safe and Reliable Riding
Segway-Ninebot, a leader in micromobility, has launched the Ninebot eKickScooter C2 Lite as the newest item in their kid-friendly scooter range. This innovative scooter is ideal for children aged 6 to 10, offering a fun, safe, and reliable riding experience both for young beginners and thrill-seekers, designed to evolve with them. The C2 Lite has been engineered with a focus on safety and durability. It features a smaller frame suited for young riders under 110 pounds, solid 7-inch rubber tires, a slip-resistant deck, and a mechanical hand brake similar to that found on bicycles. It also provides IPX4 water resistance, allowing it to withstand light rain.
Equipped with a 130W brushless motor, the scooter supports three riding modes, adjusting difficulty as children gain confidence. Standard mode offers gentle acceleration with a top speed of 7.5 mph. More advanced riders can use Sport mode, increasing speed up to 9.9 mph. Alternatively, Power-Assist mode mimics Sport mode's speed, but kids push off with their feet, aided by the motor for longer glides.
Other features include a Six-Point Battery Management System which promises up to 5.6 miles or 70 minutes of riding time after a full 5.5-hour charge. Interactive LED lights under the scooter provide visibility in dark conditions and can display 256 different colors, adding a cool visual element.
Priced at $199.99 and available through Segway’s online store, the C2 Lite is also expected to be available on Amazon and Best Buy soon. Parents can feel reassured with this purchase as it caters to safety without compromising on fun. Additionally, Segway has introduced the C2 Pro SE for older kids aged 10 and up, available exclusively at Sam's Club for $229.78. This enhanced model features adjustable height, speeds up to 12.4 mph, and folding capabilities for storage convenience.
