Shakira Hospitalized, Cancels Concert Due to Abdominal Issue

Shakira announced that she must cancel her concert in Peru on February 16 due to an abdominal problem. The beloved singer of "Hips Don't Lie" communicated her condition to fans by stating, "I am not in good enough condition."
Updating fans on her health, Shakira, known for her hit "Waka Waka," shared that her hospitalization came after starting her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. She expressed sadness over the situation, stating, "I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue." The 48-year-old singer confirmed she remains hospitalized.
"The doctors I am under care from have indicated I cannot perform this evening," she noted on her Instagram Stories. As a mother to sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, with ex-partner Gerard Piqué, she expressed disappointment about missing the show, reflecting, "I've been looking forward to reuniting with my fans here in Peru."

Shakira hoped for a quick recovery to return to the stage. "I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I can perform," she added. Plans to reschedule the concert are already in progress, as her team and the promoters work on a new date for the show.
"Thank you all for your understanding," she concluded with a heartfelt message, saying, "I love you all."
The tour began on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos. Following her show, she expressed gratitude: "Rio! I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to kick off the tour! Thank you for all your love, warmth, and energy!"
The day after, she performed in São Paulo at Estádio do Morumbi. There too, she connected with her audience: "São Paulo, you were pure energy and passion! Thank you for singing, dancing, and vibing with me!"
Earlier this months, Shakira attended the 2025 Grammys in Los Angeles with her sons. At the ceremony, she won Best Latin Pop Album for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. In a reflective moment, Shakira explained her journey: "I've grown a lot... Life hasn't always been kind, but it's been a good teacher."
