Sharon Stone Claims Role Cut from "A Simple Favor" Sequel

Sharon Stone recently expressed disappointment at being unexpectedly cut from a role in the sequel to "A Simple Favor." The actress shared her feelings on Instagram, stating, "I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it 👏👏👏👏." This comment was made under an E! News post about "Another Simple Favor," set to be released in May. Us Weekly has contacted Amazon MGM Studios for further clarification on Stone's remarks.
"Another Simple Favor" brings back Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, reuniting them seven years after their original roles in the comedy thriller directed by Paul Feig. Henry Golding is also returning for the sequel. So far, Feig has not publicly addressed Stone's claims. However, he did recently announce new cast members for the franchise. On March 6, he welcomed Allison Janney and Elizabeth Perkins, urging fans to "do me a simple favor" and welcome them to the "A Simple Favor" family through a post on X.

Feig also put to rest rumors about tension between Lively and Kendrick during the SXSW premiere on March 7. A YouTuber suggested on social media that Lively was apprehensive about attending the event due to alleged conflict with Kendrick. Feig swiftly corrected the claim, stating, "Um … you’re wrong."
During the SXSW promotion, Lively spoke publicly for the first time since her legal issues with "It Ends With Us" director Justin Baldoni. "I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play," she revealed. When asked about returning, her enthusiasm was palpable. She admitted to feeling "really nervous" while filming the first "A Simple Favor" in 2018, unsure how to approach its genre. Feig’s ambiguous responses concerning the balance of drama and comedy only added to her uncertainty.

Kendrick, during the premiere, sidestepped inquiries on how "Another Simple Favor" may have been affected by current events. In a light-hearted response to Variety, she joked, "Why? What happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life has been gone. But I hear the movie is amazing."
