Sister Wives’ Christine Talks About Kody’s Impact on Her
Christine Brown from Sister Wives has moved forward after her split from Kody Brown. However, she admits that his comments still affect her. "I get frustrated and hurt," Christine, 52, shares with Us Weekly. She reflects on Kody's negative statements, particularly about lacking love for his former wives.
Kody Brown, 55, and Christine ended their relationship in November 2021. They spent over 25 years in a spiritual marriage. Following their separation, Christine's sister wives, Janelle and Meri, also decided to leave Kody. Janelle left in December 2022, and Meri followed in January 2023.
Kody has expressed his feelings on Sister Wives, describing his previous relationships as "terrible." During the October 27 episode, he referred to his marriage to Christine as "sad."
Now remarried to David Woolley as of October 2023, Christine finds comfort with him. "I just talk to David about it," she explains reactions to Kody’s accusations. Kody claimed that Christine and Janelle manipulated their children against him. Christine responds, saying, "David says, ‘No one’s going to believe that.’ Everyone knows you’re not going to pit your kids against Kody." She notes that "divorces are hard" and admits it’s difficult to hear negative comments.
In a recent episode, Kody indicated he had "f and fight" relationships with his first three wives. "I was in terrible relationships," Kody recounted, agreeing those dynamics don’t foster intimacy. "That just creates orgasms," he stated.
Christine also spoke about the lack of intimacy in their relationship. "I was the one my kids would listen to," she expressed during a September 2023 episode. If they needed love or support, they turned to her.
Despite the tensions, Christine feels more empowered after her separation from Kody, with whom she shares six children. "Kody doesn’t define me — I define me," she tells Us Weekly.
While Kody’s remarks can be disheartening for her, observing Sister Wives with David adds a different perspective. Christine describes it as "fun" seeing the show through David’s eyes.
She initially dreaded David meeting Kody. Christine realized they must coexist peacefully. "We’re going to be in the same space for the rest of our lives. We just need to be adults about it," she states. She acknowledges both men handled the situation well.
Christine expresses personal growth following her time with Kody, saying, "I’m stronger than I ever thought I was." She appreciates the journey that led her to her current position in life. "I love where I’m at," she adds.
