Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan Welcomes Baby No. 3 with Chloé Mendel

Billy Corgan, the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins, has welcomed a new family member. On March 18, he and his wife, Chloé Mendel Corgan, announced the birth of their daughter, Juno Corgan. The announcement was made exclusively to PEOPLE. Juno was born at home in Highland Park, Illinois, weighing 9.9 lbs and measuring 22 inches in length.

"My wife, Chloé, is doing well and recovering, and baby Juno is happy, healthy, and nursing with gusto," Corgan told PEOPLE. He expressed gratitude for the supportive messages they received and thanked those who contributed to the peaceful home birth. "The kids are absolutely thrilled by their new sister," he added. "Augustus is 9, and Philomena is 6, so they can’t wait till she’s old enough to play."

In August 2024, the couple revealed to PEOPLE that they were expecting their third child. Chloé shared their excitement about the family expanding. "It’s an exciting time for us, although unexpected!" she said.

They joyfully announced the pregnancy to their children. Corgan recounted how 9-year-old Augustus was overjoyed, while 6-year-old Philomena displayed curiosity and concern. "She asked if the baby was already made and shed a few tears, which was honestly adorable," Corgan stated. Both children are now excited about this new addition.

Corgan and Mendel have been together since 2012 and got engaged on Mendel's 30th birthday in September 2022. They exchanged wedding vows in September 2023. In a heartfelt joint Instagram post, they thanked those who assisted in making their special day memorable. "We cannot thank everyone enough for their kind words," they shared, emphasizing their unique journey to marriage with their children by their side.
