Spencer Pratt Cries as Wife Heidi Montag’s 2010 Album Reaches No. 1 on iTunes Amid L.A. Fires
Spencer Pratt is a proud husband. He shared an emotional TikTok video over the weekend, expressing gratitude as his wife Heidi Montag’s 2010 album, "Superficial", achieved No. 1 on iTunes. The couple lost their home in the recent Los Angeles wildfires, yet they continue to encourage fans to stream and download the album. Notable stars like Paris Hilton and Emily Ratajkowski have also supported this initiative.
By Sunday, January 12, Montag’s album claimed the top spot on the U.S. iTunes album chart. The titular song surpassed popular tracks like "APT." by ROSÉ and "Leave the Door Open" by Bruno Mars on the U.S. singles chart. In the emotional TikTok video, Pratt shared their story, saying, "We spent all of our money on this album." He explained that he and Montag hired top producers and writers for the project, which had only sold 1,000 copies upon its release in January 2010.
"Every dollar we made from "The Hills" went into this album," Pratt continued. He expressed disbelief at its success after so many years, reflecting on the tears and regret they faced. "Fifteen years later, it finally gets to No. 1… We believed in Heidi’s music," he added, becoming visibly emotional.
On Saturday, January 11, Montag expressed her gratitude to fans via an Instagram Stories video. "Thank you so much to everyone. No. 1 on iTunes, oh my gosh," Montag said. She conveyed appreciation for the overwhelming love and support, especially during this challenging period.
The couple, who are parents to sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months, announced on January 7 that their home had burned down in the wildfires devastating Los Angeles. Since the loss, they have posted updates to keep fans informed and seek financial support. Montag continued, "Thank you for helping support us and giving us hope in such a dark time. No. 1, I can’t believe it—especially on the 15th anniversary of 'Superficial.'"
In a TikTok video shared on January 9, the couple revealed the few belongings they salvaged from the fire, packed into a single plastic bag. Pratt identified items like "The Hummingbird pot—with some nectar cooked into it," alongside a rubber snake and various crystals they found in their backyard.
