Spencer Pratt Discusses TikTok Earnings Following Home Loss in LA Fire
Spencer Pratt revealed his TikTok earnings after he and Heidi Montag lost their house to the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles. He shared insights into being a content creator following this tragedy.
One week after the loss of their family home in Pacific Palisades, Spencer explained his income from social media. He stated in an interview with Variety, "I made, like, $4,000 on TikTok this week. However, through TikTok Live, where fans can directly support me, I think maybe $20,000. That’s phenomenal and life-changing. This shows the power of individual supporters."
At 41, Spencer emphasized the importance of human connections, saying, "It’s powerful when you don’t have to rely on ads, AI, or algorithms. Real people simply want to give. It's unbelievable and incredible."
His comments came just a day before TikTok experienced outages affecting around 170 million U.S. users, following a proposed law aimed at banning the app for national security threats. TikTok released a statement on January 19, indicating they were working to restore service.
This news surfaced as President-elect Donald Trump expressed support for keeping the app operational, stating on Truth Social, "I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period before the law's prohibitions begin, so we can negotiate a deal ensuring our national security."
On January 8, Spencer shared that their home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire — one of several wildfires devastating Southern California earlier this month. The wildfire significantly impacted his entire neighborhood. He shared videos depicting their evacuation and the aftermath, highlighting the challenges they faced.
Spencer noted, "I know people think we're rich, so we’ll be fine (I wish)," on TikTok. "Everything in our house was paid for by Heidi and me hustling any way we could."
Fans showed their support by responding to Spencer’s call to stream Heidi’s 2010 album Superficial to help generate revenue.
"Thank you to everyone who supported us by climbing the iTunes charts," Heidi emotionally stated in a TikTok video on January 13. "The love for my music during this devastating time is overwhelming. Your support is a blessing and greatly appreciated."
She added, "Thank you for helping rebuild us back up, providing encouragement, and giving us hope in this dark time."
Celebrating the album's 15-year anniversary, Heidi remarked, "The timing is just crazy. It’s amazing."
