Tamar Braxton: One Year of Celibacy

Tamar Braxton opened up about her celibacy journey, emphasizing its strict nature. She explained her commitment to abstinence, detailing why she maintains this vow amid temptations.
The singer, known for her hit "Love and War," confirmed her celibacy status during the March 28 episode of The Breakfast Club. "I’m still celibate," she stated. "Not even a kiss, not a date."
Braxton shared, "I have friends and casual conversations, but I’m not interested in anyone. There’s no one that’s caught my attention." Despite her 48 years, she noted moments of desire for intimacy. However, her focus on long-term relationship goals keeps her grounded.

When sharing her perspective on dating, she remarked, "Of course I do want intimacy. But where does that lead? If someone isn’t on the same wavelength, it's problematic. I’m dating with purpose, yet few seem to share that intention. It’s frustrating."
In February, Braxton revealed her choice to remain single, partly due to her son Logan, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband Vincent Herbert. She articulated her concerns during her Life, Love, & Beyond podcast: "I won’t introduce another man into his life unless it’s meaningful. It’s crucial for me."
In a recent interview aired on Sherri on March 26, she elaborated on her decision. She expressed a desire to shield her son from instability: "I didn’t want to keep bringing new people into Logan’s life. My goal is to protect him mentally."
Tamar is willing to wait for the right relationship. "As a single mother," she said, "I believe I must wait for the person the Lord has in store for me."
