Teen Mom Star Farrah Abraham Reflects on Advice for Her Younger Self During Pregnancy

Farrah Abraham, a reality star and mother to a 16-year-old daughter, shared insights with PEOPLE recently. She reflected on advice for her younger self during her time on MTV’s *16 and Pregnant*.
Abraham, now 33, has no regrets about her journey as a young mom. Ahead of her "Diary of a Teen Mom" comedy debut in New York City, she stated, "That girl, all she needs to know is it's okay to be a young mom. It's actually better than being an older parent. Sorry, older parents." She welcomed her daughter, Sophia, at 17.
She expressed, "I keep getting that shame, blame, reject stuff, and I don't need to. I love my child." Abraham emphasized, "There's nothing to regret. I love being a young parent still. I love being kind of like an empty nester right now."

Sophia recently celebrated her 16th birthday. Farrah shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting memories from their trip to Germany. "Happiest Sweet 16 to the one & only @sophialabraham 🌟 To the star who made me famous at 16, I love you! I’m excited we’re traveling the world together 🇩🇪 Germany 🇩🇪 this year," she wrote.
In her own celebratory post, Sophia expressed gratitude, saying, "I’m finally 16! I can’t believe it :) I’m so grateful to be spending my 16th in Germany."
Abraham also conveyed her pride for Sophia. The teenager's father, Derek Underwood, tragically died in a car accident in 2008, just before Sophia's birth. Farrah humorously remarked, "Now I look back, and I'm like, 'Oh my God! Why did my parents let me do crazy stuff?' Because my daughter's just so calm, not traumatized, and it's just a beautiful thing."
Regarding Sophia's dating life, Farrah shared her comfort. "There's no concerns with her. She doesn't rush her relationships."

Abraham noted, "She doesn't get lost in a fantasy of relationships. She dates long-distance. We fly in, they fly in, they're all homeschooled, and it's just so peaceful."
Their relationship thrives on "healthy boundaries" and open communication. Abraham stated, "I mean, it's just great. I can't even describe anything better. I'm so blessed."
"16 and Pregnant" first aired in 2009. Farrah later starred in its spin-off, "Teen Mom," alongside Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood. She also participated in "Teen Mom: Family Reunion" in 2022. The franchise continues with "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter" on MTV.
