The Bachelorette's Andi Dorfman Hospitalized After Birth Complications
Andi Dorfman, known from The Bachelorette, faced health challenges after delivering her first child. She has been hospitalized due to postpartum complications following the birth of her daughter.
Just days after welcoming baby Harper Bell Hart, Andi reported issues that required surgery. She underwent a procedure to remove hematomas, which are pools of blood outside blood vessels.
On her Instagram Stories, Andi shared her experience on December 27, stating, "Welp, we’re back! This time for Mama." She felt significant pain after returning home, which worsened over time. Despite advice suggesting a slow recovery, Andi trusted her instincts, reaching out to her doctor who advised her to come to the hospital.
The 37-year-old explained, "Turns out I had one large and one small hematoma that were the cause of the pain." The hospital visit resulted in surgery, described by Andi as straightforward but daunting given her newborn's presence and the hormonal changes she was experiencing.
She expressed feelings of guilt about focusing on her health instead of Harper’s needs. However, she concluded that her wellbeing is essential for her daughter's care, reiterating, "she's no good if I'm no good."
Andi announced Harper's arrival on December 22 and previously shared that her labor lasted 28 hours. Reflecting on her postpartum experience, she emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body. "No matter how clueless you are about motherhood," she stated, "you still know your body best! Listen to it! Your instincts are valid and probably right."
Later, Andi posted a clip showing her husband Blaine engaging with their daughter, under the caption, "When Daddy is on duty."
Blaine expressed his admiration for Andi's strength before her announcement. He highlighted their gratitude during the holiday season, emphasizing his appreciation for Andi as an incredible wife and mother. He stated on Instagram, "Needless to say, feeling extra grateful and blessed this holiday season. Harper and I are extremely lucky to have you."
