The Baldwins Preview: Hilaria Reflects on Her Heartbreaking Miscarriage in 2019

Hilaria Baldwin has openly shared her experiences in motherhood, including deep sorrows, US Weekly reported. In an exclusive peek at "The Baldwins," she revisits her painful miscarriage in 2019.
During the upcoming episode airing on March 16, Hilaria, 41, expresses her emotions. "So, I had a miscarriage," she shares, pausing before adding, "I’ll be OK."
Hilaria discusses being "very public" about her loss back then. "[I] engaged in hard conversations... It’s a heartbreaking journey," she admits.
Prior to her pregnancy, Hilaria had contemplated IVF. She felt optimistic, stating, "I tried IVF and everything seemed to be going really well." However, the situation changed unexpectedly.

Hilaria recounts, "I lost the baby between four and five months." Doctors were unable to determine the reasons for her loss.
Hilaria sensed something was wrong as she could not "feel" the baby. "It was hard. I had an emotional attachment, you know. I was excited," she elaborates.
Reflecting on her experience, Hilaria states, "It is definitely a physically and emotionally hard experience." She and her husband, Alec Baldwin, married in 2012 and share seven children.
After the miscarriage, Hilaria revealed in April 2019 on Instagram that she was "most likely experiencing a miscarriage." She expressed a desire to normalize discussions around this loss
"There is so much secrecy during the first trimester," she noted, pointing out the struggle of pretending everything is fine. She acknowledged her exhaustion while hiding her true feelings.
Following their loss, Hilaria and Alec leaned on each other for support. They welcomed their son Eduardo in September 2020. Their daughter Lucia, born via surrogate, joined the family just five months later.
Hilaria wrote about the joy and pain on Instagram. "Nothing will ever replace her," she said, honoring their lost child. "But two wonderful souls have come into our lives."
Recently, they added baby No. 7, daughter Ilaria, born in September 2022. Alec also has an oldest daughter, Ireland, 29.
Earlier this year, Hilaria and Alec allowed fans a glimpse into their busy lives in their TLC series. Hilaria remarked, "It was a very vulnerable time." She also found value in having a diary of their coping process.
When asked about the series' future, Hilaria hinted, "We’ll see," suggesting more episodes might be on the way. Alec reinforced this, stating, "She’ll be back."
