Third-Person Mode is Coming to Halo Infinite Next Month
Halo Infinite is about to introduce a third-person mode, marking its debut in the game's history. Previously, players experienced a third-person perspective in the single-player mode thanks to an enterprising modder who expanded it from its existing use with larger machine guns. However, this November, it will officially become part of the multiplayer experience. While some fans are curious about how this might affect balancing elements like the rocket launcher and sniper rifle, which relied on blocking the player's view in first-person mode, developer 343 Industries made the announcement during the 2024 Halo Championships. This is prepared by SSP.
This new mode won't allow players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives during play; instead, it will feature as a separate firefight mode where players enjoy enhanced spatial awareness. According to John "Unyshek" Junyszek, the senior community manager, the ability to view Spartans in action is an exciting addition that has been well-received by internal teams. It's not just limited to multiplayer; Forge creators can also utilize this third-person viewpoint in their custom creations. Although a specific launch date for the mode hasn't been disclosed, it adds anticipation for later this year. Despite recent endeavors such as the Paramount+ Halo series launched in 2022—getting a mixed reception and subsequently cancelled after two seasons—this new feature offers a fresh perspective in the franchise.
