Tia Mowry Discusses Potential "Sister, Sister" Reboot: "Never Say Never"

Tia Mowry, known for her role in the '90s sitcom "Sister, Sister," is cautious about revisiting her past. At a recent launch event for Overjoyed in Los Angeles, she shared her thoughts on a possible reboot of the beloved show.
"Never say never," Tia stated. She emphasized her belief in keeping an open mind regarding the future. However, she also expressed her fondness for the show and the finality of its conclusion.
"Sister, Sister" aired from 1994 to 1999 and centered on twins Tia and Tamera, portrayed by the Mowry sisters. The twins, separated at birth, were reunited by chance at a mall. They moved in together when their families blended, creating heartfelt comedic moments.

While fans are eager for a revival, Tia feels strong nostalgia for the original experience. "It was such a beautiful, amazing show," she reflected. "Part of me wants to leave it there." Tia believes the show is a classic that shouldn’t be altered or "messed up" in any way.
As the 30th anniversary of "Sister, Sister" approached, Tia marked the occasion with a thoughtful social media tribute. She shared nostalgic photos from the show and noted how it shaped her belief in herself and her dreams.
Reflecting on the show's rocky start, she recalled its initial rejection but maintained a determination to persevere. "My sister and I faced rejection, but we didn’t give up," she noted, recalling how they were offered a second chance as a mid-season replacement. This moment remains a motivator for her to pursue dreams relentlessly.
Her TV mom, Jackée Harry, also commemorated the anniversary on social media. She acknowledged the unexpected, enduring popularity of the series. Harry contributed her insights about love and identity in storytelling, which resonate with audiences even today.
Currently, Tia is candidly sharing her journey in the We TV reality series "Tia Mowry: My Next Act." The show details her life post-divorce from Cory Hardrict and her role as a co-parent to their children, Cree and Cairo.
In her recent interview, Tia explained her intent behind sharing her story. "Everything that I do is intentional," she shared. Her aim is to inspire and empower others through her experiences in this emotional period.
