Tia Mowry Emphasizes Empowerment Through Vulnerability in Reality Series

Tia Mowry is intentional about displaying vulnerability through her reality series. During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles launch of Overjoyed on February 20, Mowry shared her journey. The 46-year-old actress aims to inspire others by sharing her life's low points. "Everything that I do is intentional regarding my why," she stated. "I'm all about empowerment, helping, and educating in any way that I can."

Mowry highlighted that her show, "Tia Mowry: My Next Act," received a nomination at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards. "To see that it was recognized, I was not looking for that at all," she emphasized. Her happiness around the recognition reflects her appreciation for the support and attention the show has garnered. "It truly touched my soul that this show was noticed, and I'm just grateful," she expressed.

The reality series offers insight into Mowry's life post-divorce from Cory Hardrict. It covers her experiences navigating motherhood, co-parenting, and rediscovering her identity. Mowry shares her son, Cree, 13, and daughter, Cairo, 6, with Hardrict. The couple ended their 14-year marriage recently.

Mowry emphasized cooking as a way to show love towards her kids, stating it "is a part of my love language." Describing herself as "a nurturer," she explained that cooking and baking create meaningful moments with family and friends.

Mowry conveyed her enthusiasm for Overjoyed, Albertsons' private label brand, which focuses on celebrating everyday occasions. She integrates Overjoyed's principles into her routine with a morning gratitude journal. "I notice a significant impact when I focus on gratitude; I also encourage my children to join," Mowry noted.

At the launch, guests were invited to enjoy Overjoyed treats. They participated in creating floral arrangements in a class led by Mowry. This event introduced Overjoyed Boutique, featuring decorative items like florals, vases, and seasonal gifts.

Overjoyed is currently available at Albertsons stores, and Overjoyed Boutique will debut in May 2025. The 2025 NAACP Image Awards are set to air live on February 22 at 8 p.m. EST on BET.
