Tina Knowles Defends Beyoncé Against Criticism of Christmas Halftime Show
Tina Knowles has stepped in to defend her daughter, Beyoncé, amid criticisms regarding the singer's NFL halftime show. This performance took place during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans Christmas Day game.
Tina expressed her disbelief over the negativity directed at Beyoncé. She wrote on Instagram, "It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent." She questioned individuals who choose to watch, only to speak negatively afterward.
The 70-year-old further emphasized this point, stating, "Obviously you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them." She implied that this obsession drives critics to watch and comment on the performance, often making themselves look foolish.
During the halftime show at NRG Stadium in Houston, Beyoncé performed a medley that included songs from her album Cowboy Carter. This performance marked the debut of her new music on stage. She was joined by her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who is 12, along with cameos from Post Malone and Shaboozey.
In response to critics, Tina suggested they "go to another channel when it’s halftime." She added that they could watch "goofy cartoons or Bozo the Clown" instead. Tina highlighted her admiration for Beyoncé’s work ethic, saying, "I have learned so much from her warrior spirit. When they go low, I work harder."
LeToya Luckett, a former bandmate from Destiny's Child, commented below Tina's post, stating, "Period!!! Ms. T."
Additionally, Tina shared multiple posts celebrating both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy. She praised her granddaughter's performance by posting a video with the caption, "Repost: High kick perfection!!! Yes, I am a proud grandma."
