Tina Knowles Expresses Shock Over Beyoncé’s Album of the Year Win at the 2025 Grammys

Tina Knowles, mother of superstar Beyoncé, expressed immense pride in her daughter following her historic victories at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The fashion designer, 71, shared her disbelief during a sneak peek of the Jennifer Hudson Show, airing on Monday, February 24.

While promoting her memoir Matriarch, Tina revealed she was "screaming" upon hearing that Beyoncé won Album of the Year for her country album "Cowboy Carter" at the ceremony on February 2. Now, Beyoncé is the artist with the most Grammy wins ever, totaling 35 awards and 99 nominations。

"I was at her house helping her and Blue [Ivy] get ready," Tina recalled. "I was not expecting it at all; I was really shocked." She described sharing the moment with her granddaughter Rumi and grandson Sir. For a moment, they all sat in disbelief.

Tina admitted she didn’t fully comprehend the win until a camera captured Beyoncé's stunned face, which quickly went viral on social media. "I couldn’t believe it because there have been many times I thought it would happen, but it didn’t," she shared.

In a lighthearted moment, Tina mentioned Blue Ivy’s encouragement for Beyoncé to stand. "It was funny because they showed Blue while Beyoncé sat there," Tina recounted, imitating her daughter's open-mouthed expression. "Blue was saying ‘get up’ as Beyoncé walked on stage, so they call her the manager."

"She’s a bossy little Capricorn like her grandma," Tina playfully remarked.

Hudson also highlighted the occasion when Alicia Keys praised Solange, Tina’s other daughter, for her work as a female producer. Praising both daughters, Hudson said, "Your whole family is talented."

"I’m proud of Solange always," Tina replied. "Solange is such an artist; she really is."

"And I’m proud of Kelly too; I must mention her because that’s my other baby," she added, referencing Kelly Rowland.
